Organizational Competitiveness through Resilient Supply Chains: Insights from Stakeholder Relationships and Agile Operations in Pakistan

Abstract

This research is an attempt to understand the impact of the three factors supply chain agility, supplier collaboration, and information sharing on supply chain resilience and through that, to organizational performance in the manufacturing sector of Pakistan. It is a result of the growing importance of adaptive and resilient operations in volatile markets. A quantitative research design was employed to collect data from 385 respondents representing the textile, automotive, FMCG, and pharmaceutical sectors. SmartPLS 4 was used for data analysis. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to test the hypothesized relationships among six constructs: supply chain agility, supplier relationship, customer relationship, resilience, information sharing, and organizational performance. The findings of the study revealed that supply chain agility (SCA) and supplier relationship (SR) have a positive and significant impact on supply chain resilience (SCR). SCR was also found to have a positive and significant relationship with organizational performance (OP). Information sharing demonstrated a strong and significant direct effect on OP, whereas customer relationship (CR) did not show a significant influence on either SCR or OP. The mediating role of SCR was confirmed, indicating that resilience effectively transmits the effects of agility and supplier collaboration toward enhanced organizational performance. This study extends DCT by providing empirical evidence that resilience is a mediating dynamic capability and thus, it offers practical guidance for the creation of agile, collaborative, and data-driven supply chains in emerging economies.
