Abstract

Management practices have become one of the most important factors influencing employee retention, organizational productivity, and overall business performance in modern organizations. In highly competitive business environments, organizations increasingly focus on effective training and development programs, compensation strategies, and employee-centered HRM practices to retain skilled employees and improve organizational outcomes. The present study examined the effect of management practices, training and development, and compensation strategies on employee retention and organizational performance among employees working in public and private sector organizations. A quantitative correlational research design was employed to investigate the relationship between the independent variables and dependent variables. Data were collected from n=300 employees, managers, and HR professionals through structured self-administered questionnaires using a convenient sampling technique. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis, and regression analysis through the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings revealed that management practices had a significant positive relationship with employee retention and organizational performance. Similarly, training and development significantly enhanced employee skills, motivation, job satisfaction, and organizational productivity. Compensation strategies also positively influenced employee commitment, organizational loyalty, and work performance. The results further indicated that organizations with effective HRM systems, continuous employee development programs, and fair compensation policies demonstrated higher levels of employee retention, operational efficiency, and organizational success. The study highlights the importance of employee-centered management strategies, career development opportunities, and motivational compensation systems in improving workforce stability and organizational competitiveness. The findings may help organizational leaders, policymakers, HR professionals, and researchers better understand the role of HRM practices in promoting employee retention and organizational sustainability. Future research should further explore the long-term impact of HR strategies on employee behavior, organizational culture, and business performance across different industries and cultural settings.
