Student retention is a critical concern for higher education institutions worldwide. This research investigates the effect of student-teacher interaction on students’ retention at under-graduate level. A descriptive research approach was employed with combining survey research. The sample for this research was selected from BS level students of Woman University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Bagh and University of Poonch Rawalakot, AJK Pakistan. The data was collected using questionnaire. The results show that student-teacher interaction has a significant positive effect on student retention, with academic integration, social integration, and student motivation mediating this relationship. Students who experienced regular and meaningful engagement with their instructors were more likely to report a strong sense of belonging, academic confidence, and intention to complete their degree programs. The study concludes that student-teacher interaction is a crucial factor in promoting student retention at under-graduation level, and that institutions should arrange faculty development programs and student support services to enhance student-teacher interaction.
