Knowledge Transformed: The Influence of Artificial Intelligence on Academic Practices and Learning

In this study, the impact of AI on academic work, learning experiences, and the transformation of educational institutions is explored. The technique of the present study was quantitative research carried out using questionnaire and the sample was 330 students of the university. Descriptive and inferential statistics (correlation analysis, multiple regression and chi square test) were used to analyse the collected data to examine the relation of the variables. The study results showed there was a positive significant correlation between the use of AI and academic practices such as writing efficiency, research productivity, and time management. Furthermore, a regression analysis revealed significant effects of the use of the AI, and of the creativity and critical thinking on cognitive development (R2 = 0.50). Furthermore, the chi-square test results indicated there was a significant correlation between the use of AI and institutional changes related to teaching, administration and smart campus systems with p value <0.001 for each of the three. To conclude, the outcomes of the study indicated that the use of Artificial Intelligence has the potential to transform the academic achievement and effectiveness of institutions, but at the same time, a cognitive dependence among learners may occur. The study recommends that AI can be used in a balanced way to get the best of both worlds, in terms of benefits to education and the ability to think and be creative as students.
