Abstract

                                This scholarly article critically reviews the current perspectives on social capital and its role in   community development. Social capital, defined as the networks, relationships, and social structures that  facilitates collective action, has gained prominence in the field of community development. This article examines various theoretical frameworks and empirical studies to provide a comprehensive understanding  of the nuanced dynamics of social capital in fostering community development. By critically analyzing contemporary perspectives, the article aims to contribute to the ongoing discourse on the subject and guide future research in this critical area.
