Nature Exposure, Pain Perception and Cognitive Functioning Among Young Adults

This Present study will aim to explore the impact of nature exposure, pain perception and cognitive functioning among adults. It is hypothesized that there will be a significant relationship between nature exposure, pain perception and cognitive function among adults. A sample of 200 adults, comprising both men and women aged from 18 to onward were collected. The assessment tools employed in this study include The Cognitive Assessment Questionnaire Broadbent et al. (1982), Pain Assessment Questionnaire PQAS and Nature Exposure Scale (NES). Data analysis involve correlation to examine direction of relationships between variables, Mediation analysis to explore predictive relationships. Results show that, pain perception and cognitive functioning failure has significant negative relationship with nature exposure, pain perception has positive significant relationship with cognitive functioning failure in adults. The mediation route illustrates that exposure to nature has an effect on cognition functions. Given that every value is significant, the results showed partial mediation. This article add to the expanding body of research and mental health and explore how nature exposure can combined in relation to pain perception and cognitive functioning.
