In the digital era, social media has become a powerful platform for shaping political discourse and influencing international narratives. This study explores the pivotal role of social media analytics in crafting international political narratives by examining how governments, political actors and non-state entities utilize data-driven insights to influence public opinion, engage global audiences, and shape geopolitical messaging. Adopting a qualitative research approach, the study conducts a thematic content analysis of relevant scholarly articles, case studies and policy reports to identify key dimensions of social media analytics including sentiment analysis, influencer targeting, network mapping and ethical considerations. The findings reveal that social media analytics enables the strategic tailoring of political narratives by interpreting public sentiment, detecting emerging trends and identifying influential digital actors. Tools such as Brandwatch, IBM Watson and Hootsuite are instrumental in optimizing message dissemination and evaluating audience response. However, the study also highlights pressing ethical and regulatory concerns particularly around surveillance, misinformation and data manipulation. By unpacking the intersection of digital technology strategic communication and political influence, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of how algorithmically-driven platforms are reshaping modern political communication across global contexts.
