Abstract

Present research tried to explains the socioeconomic determinants of poverty in Pakistan. This study employed Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) methodology to check the association of variables for period of 1986 to 2020. The study found poverty, economic growth, foreign direct investment net inflows, and human capital positive associated with of poverty. While government expenditure is found to have a negative associated with poverty. On the behalf of results the study, it is recommended to the policy makers to formulate the policies regarding poverty, economic growth, government expenditure, foreign direct investment net inflows, and human capital to mitigate poverty.
