Abstract

This research article offers an investigation into terracotta pottery artifacts from the city of Bahawalpur, Ahmadpur East. The Pottery still being made in Bahawalpur Division in old fashion and styles i.e., using the age old wheel (chak) set inside a pit and firing the same in a traditional kiln. Besides the traditional pottery Ahmadpur Sharkia is famous for producing a special type of pottery known as kagzi bartan or paper-thin pottery. Ahmadpur East is the main Centre of this craft. The objective of the present study is to examine the problems and recommends appropriate suggestions and guideline adoptability by the poor potters and implementation. The proposed strategies include stakeholders to focus on accompanying awareness sections of health benefits, conducting training and development, promoting product innovation, and exploring direct marketing channels and new customer segments.
