Abstract

This article explores the comparison of the education systems of Pakistan and United Kingdom from the lens of three areas, Curriculum Formation, Structure of Education System and Teacher training mechanisms. Pakistan has three-tier system, elementary, secondary and Tertiary while UK primary level is sub divided into key stages. The education system in Pakistan is decentralized, curriculum is under Ministry of Education's Curriculum Wing in Islamabad and different provinces also have autonomy to modify their curriculum as per their needs. UK also has decentralized curriculum having some commonalities among four countries in it.  Teacher training system in Pakistan comprises of pre - service and in - service training system and UK has various specialized programs such as PGCE, PGDE, ITT and QTS.
