Grounded in project managers competencies skills, this research seeks to examine the impact of emotional intelligence on project performance with the mediating role of top management support. For this purpose, data is collected through self-administered survey questionnaires among project managers and employees of IT sector projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Process Macro and regression analysis conducted for hypotheses testing. The findings revealed that project managers emotional intelligence significantly influence project performance. Further, top management supports play a significant mediating role in the relationship between emotional intelligence and influence project performance. These findings provide practical implications for policy makers and IT project managers by highlighting how emotional intelligence and top management support remain essential for project performance.
