Abstract

This study examined the educational impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on student learning with the mediating role of academic self-efficacy among university students in Punjab and Sindh, Pakistan. A quantitative, cross-sectional survey research design was adopted to collect data from a sample of 423 students selected through a convenience sampling technique. The participants were students from both public and private universities, such as Bahauddin Zakariya University, University of the Punjab, University of Karachi, University of Sindh, etc. The data collection was done through a structured questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale. The data were analyzed using SPSS and SmartPLS. The correlation analysis illustrated a strong positive relationship between Artificial Intelligence and student learning. Regression analysis implied that AI has a significant predictive power on student learning and academic self-efficacy. In addition, the chi-square and mediation analyses substantiated that academic self-efficacy mediates the relationship between AI and student learning significantly. The study results demonstrated that AI facilitates student learning directly and indirectly through the enhancement of academic self-efficacy, which indicates the vital role the combination of technological and psychological aspects plays in the field of education.
