Abstract

This study aims to investigate, with eye on mediating function of knowledge sharing among construction workers, the association among transactional leadership and intellectual capital three dimensions. The study examines how transactional leadership, characterized by task-oriented guidance and performance-based rewards, influences the development of intellectual capital in construction organizations, particularly through the facilitation of knowledge sharing. The research follows a descriptive design with a causal model and is applied in terms of its purpose. It also employs a field research approach for data collection. The target population consists of employees from various construction companies. A sample size of 268 participants was determined, and data was gathered through a questionnaire, which was validated and tested for reliability before distribution. To analyze the data and examine the proposed relationships, SEM using LISREL software was employed. The findings of this study indicate that transactional leadership contributes to the enhancement of intellectual capital. Additionally, the impact of knowledge sharing serves as a mediator between transactional leadership and the various components of intellectual capital. These findings suggest that transactional leadership is essential for construction companies to promote knowledge exchange and intellectual capital growth. The research offers insightful information that can be useful to leaders in the construction sector who are looking to enhance performance by utilizing transaction leadership techniques that enhance knowledge sharing processes.
