Publication Ethics
"The Critical Review of Social Sciences Studies" (CRSSS) is committed to the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. We expect all authors, reviewers, and editors to adhere to these ethical guidelines to ensure the credibility and quality of published research.
Responsibilities of Authors:
- Originality and Plagiarism: All submitted manuscripts must be original and free from plagiarism. Authors must properly cite all sources used in their research.
- Authorship: Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the research and writing should be listed as authors. Authorship order should reflect the extent of these contributions. Ghost authorship and guest authorship are prohibited.
- Research Conduct: Research reported in manuscripts must be conducted ethically and in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines. This includes obtaining informed consent from participants, protecting their privacy, and handling sensitive data responsibly.
- Data Reporting: Authors must accurately and objectively report their data and findings. Fabrication, falsification, and manipulation of data are strictly prohibited.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their research or its publication.
- Manuscript Preparation: Manuscripts must be prepared according to CRSSS's submission guidelines and formatting requirements.
- Copyright: Authors retain copyright for their published articles, but grant CRSSS non-exclusive publishing rights.
Responsibilities of Reviewers:
- Objectivity and Expertise: Reviews should be conducted objectively and fairly, based on the quality of the manuscript and its contribution to the field. Reviewers should possess the necessary expertise to evaluate the manuscript.
- Confidentiality: Reviews should be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers should not share reviewers' identities or the contents of reviews with anyone outside the editorial process.
- Timeliness: Reviews should be submitted promptly and within the agreed-upon timeframe.
- Constructive Feedback: Reviews should provide constructive and specific feedback to help authors improve their manuscripts. Personal attacks or discriminatory language are unacceptable.
Responsibilities of Editors:
- Fairness and Transparency: Editors should handle all submissions fairly and transparently. They should make publishing decisions based on the quality of the research and its contribution to the field, not on any personal or financial interests.
- Conflict of Interest: Editors should declare any potential conflicts of interest related to submitted manuscripts. They should excuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict exists.
- Peer Review: All submitted manuscripts should undergo a rigorous and fair peer-review process. Editors should select qualified reviewers and ensure that reviews are conducted objectively and confidentially.
- Editorial Integrity: Editors are responsible for upholding the journal's ethical standards and ensuring the quality and integrity of published research.
